If you’re looking for a blog filled with amazing dog training techniques, a lifetime supply of the best way to raise an Australian Shepherd and everything that would make dog trainer extraordinaire Cesar Millan envious, then you’ve come to the wrong place.
If you’re a first time Aussie or puppy owner, have absolutely no idea what you’re doing (despite reading every single dog training blog on the internet) and about 15 weeks in had that first time dog owner “What the hell have I done?” nervous breakdown while discovering sharp puppy teeth, welcome friends! We have missed you. You are not alone.
While this blog is called “Li’l Aussie Tales” after our Aussie pup we wanted to write a blog not just about Australian Shepherd’s but about what it’s like being first time dog owners so that those of you who are about to embark on this journey, feel a little less alone. A place where you can see what it’s like to get a puppy for the first time and all the growing pains and joys that come along with raising it. As our pup grows, we’ll share it all. The good, the bad and all the lessons we learned.
Little Aussie Nola is our first Australian Shepherd and our first dog ever. She’s a female Blue Merle Australian Shepherd and a crazy, spirited girl who is named after our favorite city New Orleans (Nola for short). New Orleans is known as the Crescent City and when Nola was born she had a crescent moon marking over her right eye. It was meant to be.
Nola’s birthday is January 7th, 2019 and her favorite things are cheese, chicken, naps and chewing pillows. She is social to a point where she would run away with anyone who offered her a block of marbled cheddar and her favorite person is our older daughter who runs her Instagram account: Lil Aussie Nola. We hope you enjoy her stories!
